Dogs make such good company. They don’t question the fact that you are going to take a nap
30 minutes after getting up; they are happy to accommodate you. They don’t care if you’ve
combed your hair or brushed your teeth.

There was a man sitting on the corner of a street that led to busy shopping center. He looked
tired, defeated. His loyal canine companion, a beautiful red Husky, quietly lying next to him,
eyes closed. Luckily, it wasn’t too cold or too rainy. He held a cardboard sign that read
“anything helps”. My heart sank, my Soul heavy. I wasn’t going to that shopping center and
was in a rush to get back to my office, but I couldn’t ignore them. I keep a bag stocked with
dog treats, canned dog food, water bottles, and gift cards for fast food in my car, so I went
back, stopped and talked with him for a moment. Jim and his dog Zeus. He smiled and was
so grateful for the little bit I gave him. It lightened my Soul. Hopefully, it brought a little bit of
joy — and hope — to Jim and Zeus. Please consider scattering some joy, which in turn offers
hope, where you see a need. Your Soul will thank you.

Take a walk with you. Hang out on the couch with you. Dogs help you find solace in a chaotic
world; and in moments of darkness, reshape your life into one that makes sense — a life full of
